Unlike many multi-purpose safes, our vault is designed specifically for handguns. Four programmable electronic buttons provide full access in seconds. The spring-assisted front door shaves precious seconds off total access time. Its 12” x 8” x 6” interior is roomy enough for two pistols or revolvers --- or just use the extra space for a spare magazine and a flashlight! The electronic, digital entry gets its power from 8 AA alkaline batteries (not included). The NRA Secure Handgun Vault comes with pre-drilled mounting holes used to permanently secure the vault, or to use with cable locks (mounting hardware, batteries and cable locks not included). The electronic digital entry system incorporates four buttons, but requires a five-digit code in order to gain access. Entry is also possible using the supplied manual override key. The NRA Secure Handgun Vault offers a unique fail-safe in the event of battery failure, as well --- touching a 9V battery to the jumper terminals on its side panel will provide enough emergency power for keypad access.
